Jumping For Joy

Uncategorized Mar 16, 2023

“He that jumpeth the highest haveth the most joy” – Proverbs 200 (NST).

February 2023 has officially passed, which means it is 7 years since my last relapse and I am so proud of myself I am literally jumping for joy.

For 15 years I lived in the throes of a devastating p*rn addiction.

During a majority of that time, I stayed silent. Isolated. Alone.

I couldn’t risk losing my reputation and relationships.

I thought I was the only one.

One day I couldn’t take it anymore.

I finally opened up to a friend - I was positive he was going to reject me. Our friendship would change forever. And he would tell EVERYONE.

But much to my surprise… he struggled too.

That was the start of a 5 year journey pursuing recovery.

It started with internet filters and accountability partners.

Then I thought I’d ramp up the spiritual disciplines.

But I kept plateauing. I would go a week here, or a month there, but eventually I wound up binging and “starting all over”.

I almost laugh thinking about it now because God has done so much in my life…

-My marriage of 3.5 years has been completely clean (huge answer to prayer)
-I have character, maturity and confidence like never before
-Helped 1000s of men experience freedom from p*rn

And I really owe all of this to one simple principle…

What’s Outside Comes From What’s Inside.

The huge mistake I made early on in recovery was chasing external solutions…trying to remove the weed by running over it with a lawn mower.

External solutions will bring you moments of happiness, but inner solutions bring a lifetime of joy.

Once I took the time to focus on the deeper, underlying inner causes…that’s when things began to change for me.

And it’s when things can begin to change for you too.

Now for a real Proverb…

Keep your HEART with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life – Proverbs 4:23.

Cheering you on,
Sathiya
