Speaker 1 (00:00:00) - So here's the million dollar question. How are men like us who work hard, have good motives and a God given purpose supposed to fulfill the calling on our lives and the dreams in our hearts, all while establishing sexual integrity, thriving relationships, and a meaningful connection with God. That is the question and this podcast will give you the answers. My name is Sathiya Sam. Welcome to Unleash the Man Within. Yo, yo. What's up, my man? It's Sathiya Sam here. Welcome to Unleash the Man Within. Thank you guys so much for listening. I hope you're having an amazing day. And, uh, hopefully it gets a little bit better here as you listen to our podcast for the next ten, 12 minutes. Look, we're going to talk about investing in yourself today. This is a really important subject. And, um, every man needs to hear this topic and he doesn't need to hear it from me. There's other people who have great teachings on this as well, but this is literally one of the most important topics that I think I can think of when it comes to being a man in the 21st century.
Speaker 1 (00:01:05) - Um, in our day and age in particular. Okay. So that's what we're going to jump into, um, really quick. It is the last day of January. So this is your last chance to capitalize on our January discount for our our signature program. We're offering 20% off if you are interested in being part of our program, um, and quitting porn forever in in 2024, book a call with my team. Make sure you basically need to book it today. All right? So if you haven't done that already, this is your last chance to do that. And look, if there's no availability today, um, but you can maybe prove to us that you booked in January. You know what? We'll we'll give it to you. Um, I'll. I'll let my team know. I think I'd be willing to do that for you guys. Um, but you have to book now, okay? You have to book today. I need to see that you actually booked it in before the clock struck February 1st.
Speaker 1 (00:01:53) - Okay, so that's available. And this is only for people who really are interested in, uh, a more comprehensive, all inclusive package that is going to guide them to permanent freedom systematically. Okay. Uh, best people who get results with us are professional Christian men 25 and up. And, um, I would say that if you in particular have tried a bunch of other things, you feel like you made some progress, but not the progress you want, or you feel like, man, I'm totally I'm totally distraught and I'm about to lose my marriage. I got something on the line. Those tend to be the two types of people who do very, very well with us. Okay, so link is in the show notes. Uh, you can book a call. We would love to speak with you. Now let's talk a little bit about investing in yourself. Now, this is a, um this is a subject that I'm growing in, you know, some podcast episodes. We cover content where I feel like an authority and I feel like I've lived this out, and I.
Speaker 1 (00:02:44) - I got this thing mastered. I'm excellent in this area. And now I get to impart my wisdom to you guys, my beloved listeners. Other times I am sharing on areas where I'm growing in knowing that, uh, many of you listening are probably further ahead, uh, knowing that some of you might be just a tiny little bit behind, and a bunch of us are maybe all in the same boat. And, you know, that's fine. It doesn't really matter. But this is more one of those episodes today. I grew up with very little. You know, my parents were both immigrants. My dad was a pastor, and my mom chose to be at home with the kids, which meant, you know, we were single income home. And my dad had a profession that was not particularly high paying. And and so we grew up with very little. And when you grow up with very little, the concept of investing doesn't really come up very often because, um, even just, you know, when we're talking strictly about financials, there's not really a lot to invest, right? So you're not talking about investment because there's not a lot to invest.
Speaker 1 (00:03:45) - And that's just kind of the way that is. Um, now when I say investing now I'm not really talking about just finances. That could be part of it. But one of the things I've really had to grow in, in the last, you know, five years has been investing in myself. Uh, I remember this was this was July 2019, and Shalonda and I were getting ready to get married, and we were not doing well financially. I was, you know, living in a tiny basement apartment, like, I mean, I'm talking tiny, like 300, 400ft², um, making very little money. My wife was really sick, and we had medical bills stacked up. And I just remember being like, this is this is ridiculous. You know, I've had enough. Like, I'm a smart guy. I'm skilled. I have lots to offer the world. Uh, I'm maybe I'm not going to be, you know, some multi-millionaire one day, but I, I should be able to, you know, do a little bit better than this.
Speaker 1 (00:04:45) - And so I went to an investing, um, there's, like a free investing course. This was for real estate. Um, and I, I had read some books that, you know, talked a lot about the value of real estate and how wealthy people have real estate. And I was like, okay, I'm I want to learn more about it. So I went to this free training and, um, I remember at the end, you know, they made a pitch and they offered, uh, they offered a membership. It was $50 a month. And I remember, like, shaking as I was filling out this form to commit $50 a month to, to grow in my, in my investing education, that that should give you an idea of where I was coming from. I had no concept of investing in myself and spending my hard earned money on, you know, like self-education, personal development. Um, since then, cumulatively, I have probably spent upwards of $75,000 us on my growth and development.
Speaker 1 (00:05:44) - And that number is actually conservative. It's probably more I, I am a really, really big believer in in investing yourself. But here's the thing. And and and here, here's the the reality. You do not you do not invest in yourself by having more money like that. That number I just told you like those are company profits spread over years that I rather than just saying, woo hoo! You know the business has some profit. Let's go splurge. I'm like no, let's you know, I mean, I put a lot of it aside because the economic the economy is unstable and I want some cash reserves. And then I have taken that money and I've reinvested it into my growth and development, because I don't really feel like I know what I'm doing as a business owner. You know, I'm still kind of figuring all this stuff out. Um, but I will tell you that that decision making process was the byproduct of learning to value myself. And that's why the title of today's episode is not like five Ways to Invest in Yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:06:38) - The question is, are you worth investing in? And and unless that the answer to that question is yes, then you will continue to cheap out on on solutions and and outcomes regardless of what area of your life we're talking about, whether it's your marriage, whether it's your money, whether it's your spiritual life, you know, like, um, I it's crazy, like everybody says, you know, when it comes to priorities, it's God, it's family. And then it's work, right? But then it's like, well, what do you invest all of your extra money in? Well, you know, I mean, I love Netflix, you know, I love sports, I love my sports and whatever. It's like, oh, so you wouldn't spend, you know, a thousand bucks to go to go, you know, take a course and learn on your learn about spiritual development, spiritual growth, or maybe be coached by somebody who could teach you how to read the Bible, help you get your spiritual disciplines on track a thousand bucks.
Speaker 1 (00:07:26) - Are you kidding me? And it's like, well, are you kidding me? Like a thousand temporary dollars? That could literally change the rest of eternity. Like, it just seems. It just seems crazy, right? But unless we have an investors mentality and unless we understand our true value and worth, we will never rationalize or reason that way. So the question is, are you worth investing in? And this is why, again, when you're in a on a recovery journey, you must be. You want to make sure that part of your process includes an identity shift. That's one of the best things that we see our clients go through is they they they, you know, they build their self awareness. They go through a transformational hard experience, and then their identity begins to shift. And often like what one question we're getting now a lot from our clients is like, so what's next? What do you guys have for us? Like, I quit porn, what's the next thing that I can invest in? Because they they get it.
Speaker 1 (00:08:20) - Like they get their worth. They get their value. They understand that they are people who are worth investing in and that when they invest in themselves, everything around them gets better. And I'll tell you what, the investments that I've made, you know, I have been able to change literally tens of thousands of lives through this podcast alone, let alone Instagram, let alone our coaching programs. I've been able to change tens of thousands of lives because I invested in myself like other people's lives have been dramatically changed because I thought I was worth. I was just crazy enough to think that I was worth investing in. My wife gets a better man because I invested in myself. My son Judah, is going to get a better daddy because his dad has been willing to invest in himself. And investing myself has not been, you know, like even when I invest in business, I don't I don't really chase the like, let's make more money programs. I'm not really about that. I like the programs that are about impact, that are trying to, you know, create businesses that really make a difference in the world.
Speaker 1 (00:09:18) - And that for me is that's what this thing is all about. And that's why I'm worth investing in. And that's why you are too. And that's what I wanted you guys to get from today's episode, that that's the the the punchline here. You are worth investing in. Now, you may not believe it, but I'll tell you the way that you believe it is. You start investing in yourself. You know, like I mentioned, how our clients have that identity shift right where they they like start to realize like, oh my gosh, I am worth investing in. And we're like, bro, no, you you invested to get in this program. You already knew that. You just maybe didn't realize it. You maybe weren't aware of it. And so I want to encourage you guys, you you can slice this however you want, but you are worth investing in. And especially, you know, when we're talking about porn addiction, we're talking about divorce on the line here, right? Your marriage on the line.
Speaker 1 (00:10:07) - We're talking about your spiritual life on the line. We're talking about maybe your ability to lead your kids on the line. Uh, we're talking about your mental emotional well-being. Uh, when these things are on the line, your ability to step into your calling, your productivity at work when these things are on the line, the the question are you worth investing in is easy. Yes. Because if you get better and then these other areas get better, what's the return? It's infinite. It's exponential. It's it's incalculable. And so I wanted you guys to just hear this from somebody who's growing in this area, somebody who's made some moves and is trying to get better at better at appreciating his own worth and acknowledging the importance of investing in himself. You are worth investing in. You're worth investing in. And in case anybody told you any differently, just hear it from me. You are worth it, man. You are totally worth it. So that is everything for today. Thank you so much for listening.
Speaker 1 (00:11:00) - Again. If you want to slide in and try to get a call, uh, in January so you can get a 20% discount, make sure you book that call today. The link is in the show notes.
